Summer 2012 Life Groups
At Lakepointe, we believe that life is a team sport – best done together! So we want to encourage you to check out one of our exciting Summer 2012 Life Groups.
Life Groups are Lakepointe’s groups of 10-15 people that get together each week in a convenient location to grow, have fun, learn about the Bible and meet new people.
Groups begin the week of June 3rd and most will meet every other week until August (exception: Celebrate Recovery, Men’s Prayer Breakfast, and the Gospel according to John will meet weekly).
Below is a list of topics and locations for each Life Groups.
WEIRD: Because Normal is Not Working
Friday night (7 PM) beginning June 8th – Sterling Heights
Simply put, normal isn’t working. Normal people are stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Many of their relationships are at best, strained and, in most cases, just surviving. This series challenges us to go WEIRD – to break free from the norm to lead to a radically abnormal (and endlessly more fulfilling) life.
Discovering God's Will
Tuesday night (7 PM) beginning June 5th – Chesterfield
Join Pastor Scott as we see how God has a wonderful and fulfilling vision for your life. Yet determining God’s will can be a difficult process, especially when you need to make a decision quickly!
Celebrate Recovery
Currently meets every Friday Night (7 PM) at Lutheran High School North
Our society is becoming more and more complex. Kids now have three sets of grandparents. Sexual addiction for men and women is growing at an exponential rate. Divorce is at an all time high – including Christians. Celebrate Recovery is designed to help those struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process.
Men's Prayer Breakfast
Currently meets every Wednesday morning (8:30 AM) at the Savory Grille Restaurant
Gather with us every Wednesday for a time of fellowship, prayer, and devotion. This gathering is currently meeting now in the Savory Grille Restaurant, just north of Hall Road on Van Dyke.
Twisting the Truth
Sunday night (6 PM) beginning June 3rd – Sterling Heights
The most dangerous lies are the ones you never noticed. They can twist your thinking in ways you’d never expect and can leave you with a life you never imagined. In this session Andy Stanley exposes some ways God’s truth gets twisted and how to overcome them.
Developing a Faith that Works
Friday night (7 PM) beginning June 8th – Sterling Heights
Do you want to grow deeper in your walk with God? Are you looking to strengthen your faith? This study is designed to do just that. The book of James is an enriching verse by verse study taught by Pastor Rick Warren.
A Journey with the Early Church
Monday night (7 PM) beginning June 4th – Shelby Twp./Washington Twp.
For Christians today, faith in God can sometimes seem to be a cerebral choice. For the early church, it was the difference between life and death. In this session you will discover the passion and commitment early believers displayed as they claimed Jesus in the face of fierce consequences and powerful adversaries.
Start Becoming a Good Samaritan
Thursday night (7 PM) beginning June 7th – Sterling Heights
Becoming a good Samaritan explores the critical needs facing our world and helps Christians understand how they can become Good Samaritans right now, right where they live. This study will help encourage, educate, and inspire you as you learn to put your faith into action.
Made to Crave
Wednesday night (7 PM) beginning June 6th – Macomb Twp.
Take your physical and spiritual health a step further. This study will study Biblical truth for your journey to physical and spiritual balance in health.
Walk on Water
Tuesday night (7 PM) beginning June 5th – Macomb Twp.
Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the windswept sea of Galilee toward Jesus. In this study, you will discover the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone.
The Gospel of John (Ladies)
Currently meets every Tuesday morning (9:30am-noon) – Macomb Twp.
This ladies group is an ongoing group that meets every week. They study passages in several translations, read any available study notes, ask/answer questions, and have discussions about the passages. It is great for seekers, new believers, those with limited Bible study experience, and anyone else who would like to come.
