Winter 2012 Life Groups

At Lakepointe, we believe that life is a team sport – best done together! So we want to encourage you to check out one of our exciting  Winter 2012 Life Groups.

Life Groups are Lakepointe’s groups of 10-15 people that get together each week in a convenient location to grow, have fun, learn about the Bible and meet new people.

Groups begin the week of January 29th and will meet weekly until April/May. Below is a list of topics and locations for each Life Groups.

Financial Peace University

Every Sunday night (6 PM) beginning February 12th at Lutheran High School North

BASIC: Who is God?

Every Tuesday night (7 PM) beginning January 31st in Chesterfield area

Join Pastor Scott as we explore the weighty topic of the Trinity, gleaning the reality of the nature of God into the foundational truths. This class is designed for those who have been a believer for a long time, to those who are seeking Christ.  There will be challenging, innovative, and accessible discussions of the nature of God and what that knowledge means for those who believe in Him.

Celebrate Recovery

Every Friday Night (7 PM) beginning January 20th at Lutheran High School North

Our society is becoming more and more complex. Kids now have three sets of grandparents. Sexual addiction for men and women is growing at an exponential rate. Divorce is at an all time high – including Christians. Celebrate Recovery is designed to help those struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process.

Men's Prayer Breakfast

Currently meets every Wednesday morning (8:30 AM) at the Corner Clock Restaurant

Gather with us every Wednesday for a time of fellowship, prayer, and devotion. This gathering is currently meeting now in the Corner Clock Restaurant on the southwest corner of Hayes and 23 Mile Rd.

A Basic Course in Sign Language

Every Tuesday night (7 PM) beginning January 31st near 19 Mile and Schoenherr

In this class you will learn basic ASL communication.  Course includes sign, vocabulary, finger spelling, numbers as well as history of ASL and becoming knowledgeable of aspects of deaf culture.  ASL I is designed to give participants a good basis for sign communication.

Walk on Water

Every Friday night (7 PM) beginning February 3rd near 19 Mile and Schoenherr

Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the windswept sea of Galilee toward Jesus.  In this study John Ortberg invites you to consider the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone.

Experiencing God

Every Monday night (7 PM) beginning January 30th near Mound and 26 Mile

In this study you will learn how to hear when God is speaking to you and find out where God is working and join Him.  You can experience God doing through you what only God can do.

Best Question Ever

Every Thursday night (7 PM) beginning February 2nd near 19 Mile and Romeo Plank

Learn God’s principles for improving your current relationships and mending damages ones.  In this study you will learn how to forgive, accept, serve, encourage, and submit to others.  Discover the power to goof-proof your decision making with the simple question:  What’s the wise thing to do?

James: Mercy Triumph - Ladies Bible Study

Every Wednesday night (7 PM) beginning February 1st near 24 Mile and Romeo Plank

Come along with Beth Moore on a journey to get to know the book of James.  Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortune, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility and prayer.

Creative Correction for Mothers with Young Children

Every OTHER Friday night (7 PM) beginning January 3rd near Groesbeck and Harrington

Creative Corrections is a positive, practical and Biblical approach to correcting behavioral issues and teaching children moral values that will last a lifetime.  This study is for busy moms and includes video teaching segments with author Lisa Whelchel.  Through this small group you will draw closer to the Lord and become a more confident parent.

Do the Right Thing

Every Sunday night (7 PM) beginning February 12th near 23 Mile and Card

This study explores the ethical and moral breakdown that is hitting our culture from all sides.  Through panel discussions, interviews and live student questions it raises ethical issues in a non-condemning but challenging way, stimulating thought, discussion and action.
